Privacy

This page describes what CompComp stores and why. It reflects the current beta behaviour of the product.

Account data

When you create an account we store your email address, an optional display name, your workspace and the comparisons you create. Authentication is handled by our hosting backend.

Analysed web content

When you run an analysis we fetch pages from the public URL scope you selected. We keep the page URL, title, HTTP and technical checks, short evidence excerpts, a content hash and the retrieval timestamp. We do not keep long-term copies of third-party pages.

Private notes

Notes you write on a participant are private to your account. They are never sent to AI models, never used in external research queries, never treated as evidence and never included in a shared report.

Sharing

A share link is protected by a token that is stored only as a hash. You can add a password, an expiry date and a recipient allowlist, and you can revoke a link at any time. We record the time a share was viewed, and the recipient email when an allowlist is used.

Processors

CompComp uses a hosted database and authentication provider, an AI gateway for interpreting evidence, and a web research provider for external evidence. Fetched content is treated as untrusted data.

Deletion

You can delete a comparison at any time, and you can delete your account and all associated data from your account settings. Deletion removes comparisons, targets, participants, analysis runs, evidence, notes and shares. Audit events that are not comparison-specific are kept without any link to you.

Responsible entity

The legal entity and contact address for CompComp have not been published yet. They will be added here before general availability; nothing is stated until it is confirmed.
